Breathing

Introduction

Mindful breathing is one of the oldest forms of focus and meditation.  It has been used to calm the body and mind since the beginning of time.  Watch anyone who is about to try to perform at their best.  A competitive athlete or actor about to go on stage, what do they have in common?  They will most likely prepare themselves with a deep breath before they start their performance.

So how do you get started?  Simple……just breath.  Stop what you are doing and take a deep breath and exhale.  1, 2, maybe 3 times, feel better?  That’s your body's natural reaction to increased oxygen in your system.

Now that you have seen the potential of what controlled breathing can do, let's consider an approach to better health.  Remember that there is no right or wrong.  Feel free to change what you are doing.  It’s simply what works best for you.
